I have almost no connection to the former environmental research center or Reposaari. With the changed conditions due to the pandemic, it is impossible to continue as I had planned. The situation is extraordinary but its effects on working in the arts are mostly very ordinary with increasing precariousness, and countless plans, proposals and funding applications for works that will never be made.

Vappu Jalonen is an artist and a writer. She lives and works in Helsinki.
The work of Jalonen happens at the intersections of visual art, performance, sound art, literature and research. Her work often deals with power relations and knowledge production by focusing on bodies and everyday objects, situations and words.
